Women's Soccer Falls in PBC Quarterfinals to UNCP

PEMBROKE, N.C. - Despite controlling the match most of the night, the University of North Georgia women's soccer team fell to UNC Pembroke, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Tuesday afternoon.

UNG had all of the stats in their favor through halftime, putting eight shots on frame in the first half and earning five corner kicks while holding the Braves without a single corner kick. UNCP weathered the storm to keep the match scoreless through 45 minutes.

The tides turned in the second half as the Braves struck in the 52nd minute when Stacey Scott headed home a corner kick to take a 1-0 lead. From there, the Braves did enough defensively to hold on and advance to the semifinals.

NOTES
- This is the first time since 2013 that UNG has been ousted prior to the semifinal round of the tournament.

- Hannah Goudy made nine saves on the night in between the posts.

- North Georgia is now 10-5-1 on the year and will wait to see if their resume is enough to get them into the NCAA Tournament. UNG currently sits at No. 5 in the Southeast Region rankings with a new set of rankings coming out tomorrow afternoon.
