DAHLONEGA - Alex Grant scored twice and
Matt Sharman had four saves as the University of North Georgia men's soccer team earned its first clean sheet of the season with a 3-0 win over USC Aiken Saturday afternoon at the UNG Soccer Complex.
After an initial surge from the Pacers in the opening minutes, the Nighthawks settled down and finally found the first goal of the afternoon in the 27th minute.
Prince Domafriyie settled the ball just inside the 18-yard box and found the far post past the USCA keeper to put UNG up, 1-0.
UNG held onto that lead for the next 40 minutes before Grant found his first goal on a bad clearance by the Pacer defense. Six minutes later,
Gabriel Garcia touched the ball to Grant who pushed the ball into the net past the goalie to bring the match to its final score.
