FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - Two first-half goals paced the University of North Georgia men's soccer team as they shut out Emmanuel 3-0 Saturday evening. The Nighthawks improve to 3-3 in 2017 with the win.
Alex Grant got the Nighthawks on the board in the 28th minute off a
Gabriel Garcia pass. Garcia assisted on the second goal of the day as well when
Eren Ozer doubled the North Georgia lead in the 43rd minute of play.
UNG added one more goal in the 89th minute when
Carl Ludwig Eriksson scored his second goal of the year to get to the match's final score.

Matt Sharman recorded his second shutout of the season, saving eight shots in the contest.
- North Georgia has now won five straight versus the Lions, improving the all-time series record to 5-1. UNG is now 3-1 in Franklin Springs.

North Georgia will next take the field on Saturday, September 23, against Francis Marion in the Peach Belt Conference opener. The game will serve as Soccer Alumni Night in Dahlonega. UNG's match against Barry University originally scheduled for Monday has been cancelled.
