Dumphy Nets Golden Goal In Nighthawks' 2-1 Overtime Win At Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. - Olivia Dumphy netted her second goal of the season in the 96th minute as the University of North Georgia women's soccer team defeated Anderson, 2-1, in overtime Wednesday evening at Trojan Stadium. The Nighthawks improve to 2-1-2 with the win.

After a sixth minute goal for Anderson's Lauren Allan, the Nighthawks began their onslaught of shots, taking nine shots, four of which on goal in the first half but not finding a goal in the first half.

In the second half, UNG took the first nine shots of the half and, on the 15th shot of the half, Payton Bisso scored her second career goal off a pass from Rosie Embley to tie the match at 1-1. North Georgia took seven more shots in the half, but the game passed through the final 20 minutes with a 1-1 score.

The Nighthawks continued the heavy offensive pressure in overtime that finished with Dumphy taking a rebound off of a Renee VanHorn shot and scoring it to clinch the team's second win of the young season.
