COLUMBUS, Ga. — The University of North Georgia women's basketball team fell to No. 10 Columbus State, 59-46, Wednesday evening at the Lumpkin Center. The Nighthawks slip to 16-5 on the season with a 8-4 mark in the Peach Belt Conference.
UNG struggled offensively in the game, never scoring more than 13 points in a quarter, while shooting just 33 percent from the floor in the game. While the offense never got off the ground, the defense did keep North Georgia in the game, holding the Cougars to their lowest scoring output of the season by six points.

Julie McKie accounted for over 40 percent of the Nighthawk offense on the evening, scoring 19 points.

- For CSU, Jasmine Herndon ed the Lady Cougars in scoring with 14 points on the night. Ashley Asouzu finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Tatiana Wayne put in 10 points off the bench. Alexis Carter tallied eight points, 12 rebounds, five blocks and five steals.
- The 59 points were the fewest this season for the tenth-ranked Lady Cougars. CSU held North Georgia to its lowest offensive output since November of 2012.
- Columbus State improves its all-time mark against North Georgia, now holding a 14-9 advantage over UNG in the all-time series. The two squads will meet again in Dahlonega on Saturday, Feb. 18.
