Women's Basketball Falls at Flagler, 76-69

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Despite four Nighthawks in double figures, the University of North Georgia women's basketball team fell at the hands of Flagler, 76-69, in Peach Belt Conference play Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium. The Nighthawks are now 6-2 overall and 1-1 in PBC play.

Trailing by 10 with 3:17 to play in the first half, the Nighthawks went on a 9-0 run to cut the Saint lead to one at halftime and then hit the opening basket of the third quarter to take the lead for the first time since the score was 3-2. The Saints responded with a 15-0 run late in the third that gave Flagler the lead for good.

NOTES
- Mackenzie Darrah led the Nighthawks in scoring with 17 points. Amber Skidgel added 16 while Kara Groover put up a career-high 14 points and nine rebounds. Deana Blankinship earned her second consecutive double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

- The Nighthawks had just six free throws in the game compared to 26 free throw attempts by Flagler.

- The Saint win was the first for Flagler in the all-time series.

NEXT UP
The Nighthawks will travel to Augusta to take on the Jaguars in league play on Tuesday. Tip time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
