Men’s Basketball Threatens No. 13 Queens But Falls, 92-84

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — The University of North Georgia men's basketball team gave the 13th-ranked team in the nation all they could handle Wednesday night at Memorial Hall threatening with a late rally, but ultimately Queens (N.C.) pulled out the victory, 92-84. UNG slips to 2-4 on the season after the loss.

Queens led from wire-to-wire in the game but their lead would stay within single digits for nearly the entire game, with their largest lead of the night being 14 points late in the second half. The Nighthawks narrowed in late in the second half pulling with a single possession twice in the final minute but were never able to close the gap completely and the Royals extended their lead in the final 10 seconds of play with multiple free throws to give the game its final 92-84 score.
