GREENWOOD, S.C. — The University of North Georgia men's soccer team put up a strong fight against the current leader in the Peach Belt Conference standings on their home pitch but couldn't find the offense necessary to get a positive result at Lander Wednesday evening as the Nighthawks fell, 2-0. UNG moves to slips to 5-7 on the season and is now 2-2 in conference play.
Sam Lofts got the Bearcats on the board first in the 30th minute as he took a perfectly placed through ball into the upper 90 on the far post.
Lofts proved an excellent through ball of his own in the 60th and Michael Leach beat out the aggressive Nighthawk keeper to give the Bearcats the 2-0 lead that proved final.
