AMERICUS, Ga. — The University of North Georgia men's soccer team made a first half penalty kick conversion hold up as the Nighthawks downed Georgia Southwestern, 1-0, Wednesday afternoon at Hurricane Field. UNG advances to 8-8 on the year with a 5-2 mark in the Peach Belt Conference.
The lone score of the day came in the 38-th minute as UNG took advantage of a foul in the box resulting in a penalty kick.
Adam Farrell converted the opportunity into the score to give the Nighthawks the eventual game-winner.
NOTES
- UNG was outshot in the contest 21-20, but held a 9-8 advantage over GSW in shots on goal.
- Both goalkeepers tallied eight saves on the day.
- UNG improves to 12-1 all-time against Georgia Southwestern, however three of the last four contests have been decided by just one goal.

The Nighthawks head to the Tar Heel State on Saturday, Oct. 22 for a match against UNC Pembroke. Kickoff is set for 10:30 a.m.
