DAHLONEGA | Kelsey Hutchins came off the bench to score a game-high 24 points to lead the University of North Georgia women's basketball team to a 69-63 non-conference win over Shorter on Wednesday afternoon in Memorial Hall.
North Georgia trailed by as many as 12 (16-4) midway through the first quarter, but used a 14-2 run of their own to tie the game at 18 apiece at the 7:11 mark of the second quarter.
UNG improves to 10-1 overall on the season with the win.
NOTES- Hutchins hit 10-of-14 shots from the floor including both of her 3-point attempts, and has reaching double figures in scoring in nine consecutive games.

Cierra Jackson missed her seventh double-double of the year with 10 points and nine rebounds.
- With the score knotted at 54 with just over six minutes remaining, UNG's
Riley Slaton hit a layup off an assist from Jackson to ignite a quick 6-0 (60-54) run and give the Nighthawks their final lead of the game.
- The Hawks connected on 7-of-10 3-pointers in the first half, but went cold after intermission making good on only one of their 11 attempts from long range.
- Shorter (7-3) entered the game as winners of four of its last five games and was led in scoring by Madison Rice and Jackie Hudson as each scored 11 points apiece.
- North Georgia held Shorter to 36% (23-of-63) from the field for the game.
