DAHLONEGA | Cierra Jackson tallied her sixth double-double of the season with a 20 point and 18 rebound effort as the University of North Georgia women's basketball team defeated Armstrong State, 60-52, in Peach Belt Conference action on Saturday evening in Memorial Hall.
The win moves the Nighthawks to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the PBC, while Armstrong State falls to 8-3 overall and 0-2 in the league.
NOTES- The first half was a low-scoring defensive affair as the Nighthawks got a basket at the buzzer by
Lauren Pounds to take a 27-22 lead into the break.
- North Georgia held Armstrong State to just 22.6 percent from the field (7-of-31) but the Pirates did knock down a pair of threes, while North Georgia was 0-for-8 from long range before intermission.
-Â North Georgia hit two baskets in a row to start the second half, building a double-digit lead, and the Pirates would not get closer than five points the rest of the way.
- Armstrong's Brigitta Barta notched her 1,000
th career point with 3:48 left in the fourth quarter, becoming the 11th player in Armstrong State women's basketball history to reach the 1,000 point milestone and only the second to do so in her junior season. She finished the game with six points and now has 1,003 in her career.
- Shermika Harris led the Pirates on the day offensively with 18 points, while junior B'Kiya Webb notched her sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
- Jackson's double-double marked the second consecutive game that the senior guard has collected 17 rebounds in a game as she averaged 16 points and 17.5 rebounds in UNG's two PBC wins.
- North Georgia held the Pirates to 28% (19-of-68) from the floor on the night and forced 19 turnovers. The Nighthawks' 10 steals marked a new team season high.

Kelsey Hutchins came off the bench to pitch in with 18 points and seven rebounds as the junior forward recorded her eighth consecutive game scoring in double figures.

Jordan Livesay added 13 points, including 3-of-5 from behind the 3-point line.
