DAHLONEGA | Kelsey Hutchins scored a game-high 25 points as the University of North Georgia women's basketball team defeated Trevecca Nazarene, 71-46, on the first day of the UNG Nighthawk Classic on Friday evening in UNG's Memorial Hall.

The Nighthawks used a 17-0 run in the first quarter to jump out to a 19-4 lead before the Trojans hit their first field goal of the night with 1:19 left in the first quarter.

NOTES- Hutchins recorded her sixth career double-double and first of the season as she pulled down 10 rebounds to go with her 25 points.

- The Nighthawks stay undefeated and improve to 3-0, while Trevecca Nazarene falls to 1-3.

- Ten different Nighthawks scored in the contest.
Julie McKie added 12 points for North Georgia, and
Lauren Pounds had nine.

- Paige Baugher led the Trojans with 12 points on 3-of-9 shooting from the floor. Megan Kilburn added nine points with seven rebounds.

- Georgia College defeated Catawba in the first game of the UNG Nighthawk Classic, 54-52.
