DAHLONEGA | The third-ranked University of North Georgia women's soccer team got back to their winning ways on Saturday taking down UNC Pembroke, 2-0, at the UNG Soccer Complex. The Nighthawks improve to 10-1-1 on the season with a 5-1-1 mark in Peach Belt action.
Jacy Ramey scored what would be the game-winning goal in the 13th minute finishing a whiffed shot attempt from
Rachel VanHorn who was trying to take advantage of a great ball from
Sophia Matonak.
Matonak found the back of the net herself in the 27th minute showing her grit with a tackle outside of the box and finishing after winning a challenged ball inside the box knocking the ball past the keeper to give UNG the 2-0 lead that proved final.
NOTES-
Jacy Ramey leads the team with her 10th goal on the season and it marked her fourth game-winner of the year.
- Today's shutout was the eighth of the season for UNG. The Nighthawks have not allowed goals in back-to-back games thus far this season. The single-season team record for shutouts is nine, which North Georgia achieved in both 2011 and 2014.

Mallory Sayre picked up her 25th career shutout today in goal.
NEXT UPThe Nighthawks will travel to Columbus State on Wednesday for a pivotal PBC showdown. CSU currently leads the league with 19 points ahead of second-place North Georgia with 16 points. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
