UNG Men's Soccer Blanks Clayton State, 1-0

Victory Marks Program's First-Ever Win Over Lakers

MORROW, Ga. | The University of North Georgia men's soccer team made a first half goal by Ivan Acimovic stand up as the Nighthawks posted a 1-0 Peach Belt Conference win over Clayton State on Wednesday evening at CSU's Laker Field.

Acimovic found the back of the net in the match's 17th minute marking the contest's only score.

Victor Ohlin earned his third win of the year in goal with the 11-save shutout.

The win is North Georgia's second consecutive and pushes the Nighthawks' record to 3-8-1 overall and 2-3-0 in league play. Clayton State falls to 6-4-1, 2-3-0 PBC.

NOTES
- The win over Clayton State was the Nighthawks' first-ever with the Lakers winning 13 of the previous 15 meetings.  The teams had battled to a draw on two occasions (2012 & 2008).

- The shutout was Ohlin's fourth career shutout and first of the 2015 season after turning away all 11 shots that the Lakers were able to put on frame.   The 11 saves almost doubled his previous season high of six.

- The back-to-back wins mark the third time in the last three seasons that the Nighthawks have posted consecutive victories.
