DAHLONEGA | University of North Georgia head softball coach Mike Davenport announced the signing of seven incoming freshman for the 2016-2017 school year on Wednesday. The newcomers have all signed letters of intent to join the Nighthawk softball program next fall since the early signing period opened on Nov. 11.
 
The incoming class features a lot of talent from the Peach State, a mainstay in Davenport's program. Last year's national championship squad was made up entirely of Georgia natives, the only NCAA Division I or II program that could make the claim.
