Morgan May

Morgan May enters her tenth year on the University of North Georgia administrative staff after earning her Master's in Business Administration as a graduate assistant. In August of 2024, May was elevated from Director of Marketing & Events to the administrative level as the Assistant Athletic Director, Communications & Marketing. May provides oversight to the Communications, Creative Services and Fan Engagement director-level positions.

May serves as a member of the department's external operations team, leading community engagement and outreach, in-venue experience, corporate sponsorship activations and social media. She also provides oversight of the department’s special events such as the Athletics Hall of Fame, Operation Nighthawks of Honor and the Golden Nighthawks Awards Gala.

She serves on various campus committees including the UNG Service Excellence Champions Council.

In her first three years as Marketing & Events Coordinator, May helped implement the school's first-ever fan loyalty rewards program - LOYAL BLUE, which propelled two thirds of the school's ticketed sports finish in the top-10 in the country in overall attendance. The 2024-25 season saw all of the school's ticketed sports finish 1st in the conference and top-10 in the country in overall attendance. She also promoted the highest-attended men's soccer game in NCAA Division II during the 2018 season and the highest-attended women’s soccer game in NCAA Division II during the 2021 season.

May also serves on UNG's NCAA Championships committee for all postseason events hosted on campus. This included the 2024-25 season, in which UNG hosted four NCAA Division II championships on campus and the 2022 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf National Championship. She was a member of the 2024-25 PBC Sports Information Staff of the Year.

In 2022, May provided organizational oversight to the department's first-ever Day of Giving event. All 13 programs and staff collaborated with their teams and each other to raise over $71,000 from 1,005 donors in its first year.

During the 2021-22 academic year, May was selected to take part in the year-long UNG Staff Leadership Development Program, a comprehensive leadership development program for UNG staff and administrative faculty in director, department head, or vice president positions.

In 2019, May collaborated with the Lumpkin County Schools to spearhead 5th Graders’ Day Out. All fifth graders from the county enjoy a field trip to campus for a campus tour, lunch in the dining hall, and a men’s basketball game. In 2022 the initiative was presented with the Peach Belt Conference Connecting Communities Award.

May graduated from Oglethorpe in Atlanta in 2012 with a degree in Communications & Sociology and served as the captain of the women’s basketball program. She began her collegiate basketball career at Rollins in Winter Park, Fla.

Prior to North Georgia, she served as a Senior Account Support Specialist at Cox Media Group. May has also served as an assistant varsity girls’ basketball coach at Forsyth Central High School.

May carries an active membership in the National Associate of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA). She and her husband, Jared, reside in Gainesville.
