Rylee Shimmin is in her fourth season as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at UNG. Shimmin comes to Dahlonega after serving as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Washington Wild Things baseball team.
Since May, Shimmin has ensured the safety and provided comprehensive medical care for 34 professional baseball athletes for the Wild Things, working with them both at home and on the road. Shimmin became the Head Athletic Trainer after wrapping up her graduate degree at Chattanooga.
During her time at Chattanooga as a graduate assistant, she assisted in the teaching of multiple classes for first year graduate athletic training students and managed the recruitment of new graduate students. Shimmin also worked with the Mocs' football, women's basketball, softball and wrestling teams.
Shimmin has completed high school rotations at six high schools as well as with the Georgia baseball team.
Shimmin completed her undergraduate work at Georgia College in May 2019, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in exercise science.
