Kathryn Fonseca is in her fourth season on the sports medicine staff after a two-year stint at UNC Pembroke as a graduate assistant. In August of 2024 she was bumped from assistant to associate athletic trainer.
Fonseca joined the UNC Pembroke athletics department in August 2019 as a graduate assistant, tasked with the day-to-day athletic training responsibilities for both the cross country and track & field programs.

Fonseca arrived in Pembroke from Dahlonega where she raked in a bevy of experience while completing her undergraduate coursework at North Georgia. She was a member of the 2022 Dissinger Reed Athletic Training Staff of the Year for the Peach Belt Conference. Fonseca is certified in dry needling through Master Dry Needling.Â

Fonseca earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from North Georgia in 2019 and her master's degree in sports administration from UNCP in 2021.
