Stinson enters his first year in Dahlonega after spending the last seven seasons at University of Virginia's College at Wise, where he served in multiple roles on the Cavaliers’ staff. Most recently, he was the associate head coach from 2024-26 after serving as an assistant coach from 2021-24 and special assistant to the head coach in 2019.
In his role with the Nighthawks, Stinson will assist with recruiting, player development, scouting and game preparation as North Georgia builds toward the upcoming season.
A native of Honaker, Virginia, Stinson was a standout multi-sport athlete at Honaker High School. He earned First Team All-State honors in baseball during both his junior and senior seasons and set the VHSL career assist record as well as the single-season assist mark in basketball.
