University of North Georgia Athletics

The University of North Georgia Department of Athletics has named Anna Claire Knight as its new Associate Athletic Director, Compliance. She returns to the Gold City after serving in various capacities at Young Harris including Director of Athletics since January.
 
Prior to her current tenure at YHC, Knight served as the Associate Registrar at UNG. In her role, she handled Athletic Academic Eligibility and managed the entire UNG Academic Catalog. Knight interacted with prospective students at orientations and gave presentations on the responsibilities of the registrar's office.
 
Knight's experience at Young Harris spans nearly a decade after initially serving as the assistant women's basketball coach, through 2019. Following her time on the court, Knight expanded her experience in higher education by serving as an Academic Advisor at the UNG from 2019–2021, where she guided students in academic decision-making, career planning and personal development.
 
In May 2021, Knight returned to Young Harris as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. In this role, she worked closely with coaches and campus partners to ensure adherence to NCAA rules and eligibility standards while supporting the academic success of student-athletes. Her leadership and attention to detail led to her promotion to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, where she played a key role in maintaining the department's integrity and fostering a culture of accountability.
 
A former standout student-athlete, Knight enjoyed an accomplished playing career at Georgia Southern where she scored 1,319 career points, averaged 11.1 points per game connecting on 103 career three-point field goals.
