How Bush got to UNG
Emily Bush arrived in Dahlonega in 2024 as a junior transfer from UNG's longtime rival, Young Harris College. With the Mountain Lions, Bush racked up a total of 42 wins in just two seasons. As a freshman, she went 15-4 in singles primarily in the #2 spot in the lineup. Bush even defeated former Nighthawk Johanna Lippert 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) during her opening season. The following season, Bush again put up double-digit wins in singles play, going 10-11 in the #2 spot again. She also moved up to the #1 spot in doubles and picked up seven wins on the year. Bush mentioned her desire to study Nursing as a key reason for her decision to transfer to UNG. She also said, "I loved the tennis level that the team gave. The drive and dedication they showed was something that really stuck with me especially playing against them in my recent years at Young Harris."
