Biography

2012-13 (Junior): Finished 3rd in the PBC in scoring with 17.8 points per contest, while shooting 44.5% from the field … Also collected 9.4 rebounds per game which was 2nd best in the league … Carnes also led the team in blocks, averaging two per game … Scored a season-high 30 points on the road against Columbus State … Recorded eleven double-doubles on the season … Tied her career-high in rebounds twice with 18 in wins against Armstrong Atlantic and USC Aiken … Named Peach Belt Conference 1st team All-Conference and 1st team All-Region.

2011-12 (Sophomore):
 Carnes had one of the most prolific seasons in not just North Georgia history, but also in the Peach Belt Conference and NCAA Division II as she was named the Daktronics NCAA Division II National Player-of-the-Year as well as the Peach Belt Conference and Southeast Region Player-of-the-Year ... Carnes set multiple league and school records as she became just the second player in PBC history to lead the nation in scoring as she finished the season averaging 25.0 points per game off 624 total points, the tenth-highest single-season total in the history of the Peach Belt ... She set school records in total points in a season, scoring average in a season and free throws made (180) ... She also set the NCAA Division II records for points in a game (40), blocks in a game (nine) and field goals made in a game (16) in the span of just 35 days ... Carnes scored at least 30 points three times during the season including her career-high 40 against Brenau in a Saints' 86-67 win on Nov. 25 ... She also finished second in the league and 15th in the nation in rebounds per game (11.2) and led all players with 20 double-double performances on the season ... She also finished the season tops in the league and eighth nationally in blocks (78).

Wake Forest University: At Wake Forest, Carnes saw action in 28 games, including one start, while averaging over 10 minutes per game.

Gainesville High School: Carnes was named the Atlanta Journal Constituion (AJC) AAA Player-of-the-Year as a senior as she finished her prep career with 1,850 points and 1,000 rebounds ... She was a four-time All-Area selection and was named to the AJC's All-State first team during her junior and senior campaigns ... A three-time Gainesville Times Athlete-of-the-Year and Naismith All-Metro selection, she was named to the North-South All-Star Game as a senior and earned Most Valuable Player honors ... She led her team to the Lanierland Tournament crown as a junior and the second round of the state playoffs her sophomore and senior years ... Coming out of high schoo she was rated as one of the top-100 forwards in her class by ESPN ... Carnes was equally strong in the classroom as she graduated in the top 10 percent of her class and was named to the Principal's Honor Roll ... She was also an active member of the FCA.
