How Ridley got to UNG
Grace Ridley signs up to be a Nighthawk this season with an impressive winning pedigree from her high school career at Dalton High School. At Dalton, Ridley was a consensus All-State and Player of the Year selection from both the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution after helping her team to its first Final Four appearance in the state tournament in 13 years. She also earned a McDonald's All-American nomination that same season. Ridley's accomplishments also include being a two-time Region Player of the Year for two different regions after Dalton transitioned from 6A to 5A. She was also a four-time Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps Female Athlete of the Year Nominee. Her high school athletic career concluded with over 1,700 career points and 1,300 career rebounds. She was also a standout volleyball player with Dalton. Ridley was also outstanding in the classroom, graduating with a 4.3 GPa as a member of National Honor Society. She was also a four-year scholar athlete. Ridley said, "As soon as I came on my visit, I knew UNG was where I wanted to call home. Not only is it competitive athletically, but the team and coaches make you feel like you’ve been apart of their family for years and I have never felt more loved than I am here."
