Meagan May

Meagan May is entering her second year as a graduate assistant coach for the University of North Georgia softball program after being a four-year letter winner for the Nighthawks. May was the starting left fielder for the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship team, UNG’s first national championship in any sport.

May was a leader both on the field and in the classroom as she garnered Peach Belt All-Conference honors in her sophomore and junior seasons, an All-Region selection in 2014, and she was named an NFCA All-America Scholar in 2015.

The Berlin, Georgia native was a career .320 hitter, with 28 doubles, eight triples, and 78 stolen bases throughout her four years in Dahlonega. In her last collegiate at bat, May hit her first and only home run as a Nighthawk, a two-out two-run blast to left that tied the deciding game of the NCAA Southeast Super Regional in the bottom of the seventh. Although North Georgia was not able to pull out the game in extra innings, May’s home run was named the 2015-16 Peach Belt Conference Play of the Year.
