How Cherry got to UNG
Clara Cherry is the most well-traveled member of the new UNG 2025 class, joining the Nighthawks all the way from Saline, Mich. some 668 miles north of Dahlonega. The outfielder comes from Saline High School where she was a four-time First Team All-District selection. Cherry was a three-year captain of her Hornets team and led both in the locker room and on the field. Her accomplishments include being a four-time All-League player, a two-time First Team All-Region selection and a three-time selection to the MLive Dream Team. Cherry also excelled in volleyball, basketball and swim & dive with the Hornets. In the classroom, she graduate on the Gold Honor Roll and was a member of the National Honors Society. Cherry said "I chose UNG because it checked all my boxes academically and athletically. The culture of the softball program and championship mindset is something I love."
