How Conner got ot UNG
Sophomore pitcher Caroline Conner comes to UNG this season with two impressive years of college softball under her belt already from her time at Division I College of Charleston. The Social Circle, Ga. native was outstanding in her first two seasons with the Cougars. As a freshman, she was named as the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Year and second team all-conference. She ranked sixth in the CAA in wins (9) and strikeouts (102), tied for fourth in shutouts (3) and seventh in complete games (11) and ERA (2.95). Conner racked up seven wins on the season and worked an ERA of 1.73 while striking out 67 in 73.0 innings in 12 conference appearances. She was on pace for another great year as a sophomore with 12 strikeouts in 14.1 innings before an injury ultimately ended her second season. Conner cited familiarity with the UNG program and its distance to her hometown of Social Circle as main factors in her commitment to the Nighthawks.
