How Moffitt got to UNG
Avery Moffitt hails from Franklin, N.C. and Franklin High School where she established herself as a four-time All-Conference player before graduating in 2024. She joins the UNG softball program with an outstanding track record as one of the best players in the Tar Heel State over the last four years. As a junior, Moffitt hit for an astonishing .461 average with 16 extra base hits and 25 RBI. She was named to the All-WNC First Team as well as the North Carolina Softball coaches Association (NCSCA) All-District and All-State teams. As a senior, Moffitt built on the previous year, hitting .451 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI. SHe was again named to the All-WNC First Team and NCSCA All-District and All-State Team. Moffitt was also a standout on the hardwood, twice being named to the All-Conference team with the Panthers. Her mother, Penny, was also a standout athlete at FHS who eventually went on to become a legendary softball player at UNC Greensboro.
