How Stinson got to UNG
Nicholas Stinson comes to UNG after spending his first collegiate season at nearby Young Harris. However, Stinson has maintained all four years of eligibility after redshirting his lone season with the Mountain Lions. A graduate of North Cobb Christian School in Kennesaw, Ga., Stinson had a prolific high school career. As a junior, the infielder/pitcher helped lead North Cobb Christian Georgia High School Association (GHSA) 1A-Private State Runner-Up finish. He went 8-0 on the mound and was named GHSA Second Team All-State and First Team All-Region. The following season, Stinson dominated on the mound and at the plate again, leading his team to a GHSA 2A State Championship title. Stinson went 14-1 in total on the mound in his high school career. The two-way standout was originally recruited by the UNG coaching staff out of high school and reconnected with the coaches when he entered the transfer portal. It was the coaching staff that ultimately led him to commit to UNG. "What made UNG stand out over other schools was the coaching staff. The coaching staff really cares about, and takes care of all their players. Their main goal is to develop a great relationship with every player," said Stinson.
