How Sutherland got to UNG
Drew Sutherland comes to North Georgia in 2025 as a standout graduate from Stratford Academy. The Macon, Ga. native was a two-time Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA) All-Region Golfer and finished as the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Region 6A Individual Medalist in 2024 ahead of a career-best finish in the GHSA State Championship at T100 in the 721-player field. Sutherland was also a star athlete on the soccer field, twice earning GIAA All-Region Honors to pair with a 2024 GIAA State Championship. In the classroom he graduated with academic high honors and was named to the Stratford faculty recognition list. Sutherland said, "I was attracted by how close the team is and the culture around the program. The desire to be the best and the competitive environment also really attracted me and led me to choosing UNG."
