The Latest on Linnikova
Angelina Linnikova returns to UNG after a monstrous junior season in the 2023-24 campaign. UNG's mainstay in the #1 singles spot dominated the competition last season to the tune of a 22-4 record in singles play with an 18-5 mark in doubles. Linnikova ended the season ranked as the No. 11 women's singles player in the country by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) after leading the Nighthawks to their first National Semifinal appearance in program history. At one point, she climbed as high as No. 6 in the national rankings, the highest mark of any individual player in program history. Linnikova's 22 wins tied the record for the most singles wins in a season. She was named a 2024 ITA Women's Singles All-American, becoming the first Nighthawk since 2019 to earn such an honor.
