How Taylor got to UNG
Ryan Taylor arrives in Dahlonega as a transfer from junior college Gordon State where he spent the first two seasons of his collegiate baseball career. As a sophomore with the Highlanders, Taylor became a consistent starter on the bump after primarily being used out of the bullpen as a freshman. In year two however, the righty made 13 starts on the mound for GSC, posting a 5.28 ERA in 61.1 innings. He sent down 51 batters via strikeout while only walking 26 in the same span. His efforts on the mound led to a 5-4 record with the Highlanders last year. Taylor said he was first made aware of UNG after facing the Nighthawks in a scrimmage last season. As a new member of the blue and white, he will face his former team this year during an exhibition game played between UNG and GSC in January.
