Previous School – Played two seasons at Gordon College under head coach Travis McClanahan…in his second season as a Highlander, he posted a record of 5-7 with an ERA of 4.91… appeared in 17 games, starting 11…pitched 66.0 innings, while opponents hit .259 against him…during his first season, posted a record of 5-5 and an ERA of 3.19…appeared in 13 games, 11 in the starting rotation…in 59.1 innings of work, pitched two complete games and opponents hit .261 against him.

High School – Played baseball for head coach Paul Glass at Jeff Davis High School...received First-Team All-State honors during junior and senior seasons…named Region Pitcher of the Year junior year.

Personal – Born on January 18, 1989 in Douglas, Ga...son of Kelvin and Linda Kerns...has brother, Adam...majoring in History.
