University of North Georgia Athletics

The Lake Lanier Collegiate Classic (previously named the Mizuno Intercollegiate) is an all-inclusive collegiate stroke play event with low four scores from a five-person team. Entry fee includes competition golf, team accommodations and all meals while on site. Monday will feature 36 holes of play with the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Tournament awards will be presented to the top finishing team, the individual medalist and an All-Tournament team of the top-five players.

Note: Due to scheduled renovations at Chattahoochee Golf Club, the 5th Annual event (2026) will be moved to Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega. 

Achasta Golf Club: Proud home of the Nighthawk golf program, Achasta Golf Club is a natural, classic Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course that is only two miles from the UNG campus. Achasta blends with the surroundings and is located in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains along the Chestatee River with the river coming into play on over half the holes. The course was named in 2020 as the #6 rated course in Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play (Georgia) and has been home to UNG Golf since the programs started in 2009.

Future Team Exemptions
The Lake Lanier Collegiate Classic is a 15-team maximum field with the top-10 finishing teams from the previous year earning an exemption into the next year's tournament. The remaining five team spots will be filled based on end-of-year national rankings.
