8:00 a.m. – Packet pick up opens & course available for preview
9:15 a.m. – National Anthem
9:20 a.m. – Men report to start line
9:30 a.m. – Men’s 8K race
10:20 a.m. – Women report to start line
10:30 a.m. – Women’s 5K race
Course Information: This meet will be run on the University of North Georgia Cross Country Course, which is home to the 2015 & 2020 Peach Belt Conference Championships and the 2018 & 2020 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country Southeast Regionals. The course is generally set up as a large and open spectator-friendly one mile loop with a 5K race featuring three laps and an 8K race completing five laps. The course is all grass and dirt and is considered “flat and fast."
Entry Fee: $150 per team, women and men are separate teams. Total for any school is $300. Please make checks payable to UNG Women’s Cross Country. All entries should be completed online through Direct Athletics at DirectAthletics.com. Registration closes on Tuesday, October 27 at 11:59 p.m
. Per Peach Belt Conference policy, entry is limited to seven runners per school for men and women with top five finishers counting towards team score. JV or “B” team entries are not permissible.
Team Parking Area: Teams are asked to park in Lot V (adjacent to Public Safety building) or in Lot U (on Nighthawks Way below the parking deck). Signage will be in place to direct vans and buses to the appropriate lot(s).
Packet Pickup: Team packets with race numbers, timing information and starting box assignments will be distributed in the G.W. Bailey Amphitheatre beginning at 8:00 a.m. and
AFTER the completion of your team’s temperature check. Boxes will be preassigned and schools will use the same box for men and women.
Restrooms & Team Tents: Portable restrooms for both participants and spectators will be available in front of the UNG Public Safety building. There will be no assigned area for team tents. Schools are asked to set up their respective camps anywhere in the facility that does not impede the course and is socially distant from other camps.
Timing & Results: The races will be timed by Runners Fit Raceworks and will feature live statistics using a 1K split. Meet results will be loaded to TFRRS immediately following both races. All times, places and team finished will be distributed digitally.
Awards: There will not be a post-race awards ceremony, however the top two finishing teams will receive plaques and the top-10 finishing individuals will receive t-shirts prior to the departure from their facility.
Live Coverage: In addition to live stats, the Nighthawk Sports Network will deliver a multiple-camera video broadcast of the event with all coverage links available on UNGAthletics.com.
Peach Belt Conference COVID-19 Cross Country Race Protocols – Adopted August 26, 2020
• Each participating team is required to submit a completed COVID Screen/Temperature Check document immediately upon arrival. If you do not have the capabilities of checking temperatures on the morning of the event and recording on the document, then a member of our Sports Medicine team will meet you in the team parking lot to administer the checks. Please have the document, including screening questions, answered prior to arrival. The Sports Medicine team will meet you in the parking lot to collect your document.
• A vacant 3-meter wide starting box will be placed between each team’s start box.
• An empty trash bag will be placed in each start box for team apparel and should be relocated to your team tent area immediately after the start of the race by a member of your traveling party.
• The hydration station at the finish line will not use coolers and cups. Participants should bring their own water bottles.
• The finish area will feature egress points so runners can immediately exit the area and return to their team tent area.
• No spectators are allowed in the venue.
• Masks must be worn by coaches, administrators, event staff, athletic trainers and student-athletes at all times, except when student-athletes are warming up, racing or cooling down.
• Physical distancing should be employed to the extent possible. |
