"It is an exciting time for University of North Georgia athletics and the transition to FieldTurf outdoor fields is just another example of UNG's commitment to athletics. The project is a continuation of our Vision for Excellence and is a major leap forward for the student-athlete experience as well as the entire campus community," said Lindsay Reeves , UNG's director of athletics. "The fields will create a more visual space that will immediately impact fan experience, provide a first-class resource for the larger community, and most importantly, raise the level of our teams' ability to recruit and compete."

As part of the University of North Georgia's A Vision For Excellence, all three outdoor athletic fields (soccer, baseball and softball) underwent an aggressive reconstruction project during the summer and fall of 2014 that included full replacement with synthetic field turf by FieldTurf. The playing surfaces at the UNG Soccer Complex, Bob Stein Stadium (baseball) and Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium (softball) were each converted to artificial playing surfaces. The project also included a 520 aluminum stadium seating structure for the UNG Soccer Complex, as well as a new padded fence system at both baseball and softball. The complex area around all three fields was updated with new landscaping.

Now complete, the UNG outdoor athletic fields are one of the premier facilities in NCAA Division II. North Georgia joins West Texas A&M and Adams State as the only NCAA Division II schools with completely turfed outdoor playing surfaces.

About FieldTurf | FieldTurf was developed and engineered for athletes, by athletes. The company that changed the way athletes view "artificial turf". Before FieldTurf, natural grass was considered by many to be the best solution for sports fields around the world - even though it required constant maintenance and could not withstand heavy use. FieldTurf's inventors were not trying to create a better artificial solution, they were trying to replicate natural grass.  Throughout the last decade our engineered, infilled artificial turf systems became the first to host two Super Bowls, the World Series, the World Baseball Classic, a Major League Soccer Cup final and College Bowl games from coast to coast. Today, FieldTurf continues to thrive as the global market leader in synthetic sports fields with more than 7,000 fields installed. Cities and schools have been benefitting from our ability to provide the very best value for the short and long term, allowing organizations at all levels to be able to forecast the amount of money they will save by installing FieldTurf, the safest, longest lasting and highest performing artificial turf system.
