DAHLONEGA – The No. 14 University of North Georgia (UNG) men's golf team sits atop the 16-team field after the opening day of the fifth annual Lake Lanier Collegiate Classic Monday at Achasta Golf Club, while Ashton Eubanks leads the 90-player individual field.

The Nighthawks carded an 18-under-par 462 through the first day. North Georgia opened with a 5-under-par 275 in the first round and is 13-under par through 13 holes of the second round when play was suspended due to darkness.

Lincoln Memorial is second at 9-under-par 467, while Columbus State is third at 7-under-par 482.

Eubanks leads the individual field at 11-under par. He opened with a 5-under-par 65 before shooting a 6-under-par 44 through 13 holes in the second round. Eubanks recorded an eagle on No. 13 during his opening round.

Grant Langford is 3-under par for the tournament after carding a 1-over-par 71 in the first round and a 4-under-par 46 through 13 holes in the second round.

Cole Packingham is 1-over par after opening with a 3-over-par 73 and shooting 2-under-par 48 through 13 holes in the second round.

Drew Sutherland is even par after a 1-over-par 71 in the opening round and a 1-under-par 48 through 13 holes in the second round.

Kai Marko is 3-over par after shooting 2-under-par 68 in the first round and 5-over-par 56 through 13 holes in the second round.

Jack Rowe leads the North Georgia B team and is tied for fifth individually at 4-under par. Rowe opened with a 4-under-par 66 and is even par through 13 holes in the second round.

Jack Wenzel is 3-over par after shooting 1-over-par 71 in the opening round and 2-over-par 49 through 12 holes in the second round.

Rhett Smith is 4-over par after a 3-over-par 73 in the first round and a 1-over-par 56 through 14 holes in the second round.

Colby Bennett is 5-over par after opening with a 3-over-par 73 and shooting 2-over-par 53 through 13 holes in the second round.

Maddox Drake is 7-over par after a 7-over-par 77 in the opening round and an even-par 46 through 12 holes in the second round.

Among North Georgia's individuals, Tanner Millar is 9-over par after a 7-over-par 77 in the first round and a 2-over-par 48 through 12 holes in the second round. James Douglas is 10-over par after shooting 6-over-par 76 and 4-over-par 53 through 13 holes.

Dayton Humphrey is 19-over par after an opening-round 83 and is 6-over par through 12 holes in the second round.

The second round will resume Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. The third and final round will begin immediately following the completion of the second round.
