DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) men's golf team was recognized for its excellence in the classroom as the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award recipients.

The Nighthawks were one of 65 NCAA Division II programs to earn the distinction, recognizing teams that demonstrated outstanding academic achievement throughout the 2025-26 academic year.

Across all collegiate divisions, a GCAA-record 331 programs received the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award.

Maryland Eastern Shore (NCAA Division I), Virginia State (NCAA Division II), Bowdoin (NCAA Division III), Texas A&M-San Antonio (NAIA), Iowa Western (NJCAA Division I), Kirkwood (NJCAA Division II) and Maryland Eastern Shore (HBCU) were named GCAA Academic National Champions after recording the highest team GPA in their respective divisions.

The academic honor adds to another successful year for the North Georgia men's golf program, highlighting the Nighthawks' commitment to excellence both on the course and in the classroom.
