DAHLONEGA – Three members of the University of North Georgia (UNG) men's golf team were recognized for their success in the classroom and on the course as the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its 2025-26 NCAA Division II Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars.
Colby Bennett, Hunter Smith and Rhett Smith each earned the distinction for the Nighthawks.
To be eligible for GCAA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors, student-athletes must be sophomores, juniors or seniors academically and athletically, participate in at least 50% of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 78.0 and hold a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.2. Recipients must also be in good academic standing and demonstrate high moral character.
The annual award recognizes NCAA Division II men's golfers who have excelled both on the golf course and in the classroom.
