DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's cross country team has unveiled its schedule for the upcoming 2026 season.

The Nighthawks are fresh off a 2025 campaign highlighted by their twelfth-straight top three finish at the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship and placing 10th overall at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional.

UNG opens the 2026 season on Friday, Sept. 4 at the Young Harris Cross Country Opener. Two weeks later, the Nighthawks get the chance to compete in front of their home crowd as the hosts of the 14th Annual UNG XC Invitational on Friday, Sept. 18 at the UNG Cross Country Course in Gainesville, Ga. Last season, the Nighthawks finished second in their home invitational with multiple top 10 individual finishes.

North Georgia will hit the road the following Friday on Sept. 25 for the PBC Preview Meet at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course in Macon, Ga. A pair of invitationals await the Nighthawks in October, with the Georgia Tech Cross Country Invitational set for Friday, Oct. 2 in Fairburn, Ga. The regular season wraps up in Spartanburg, S.C. at the USC Upstate Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Roger Milliken Center.

The PBC Championship is slated for Saturday, Nov. 7 in Macon, Ga. The Nighthawks are looking to capture their first victory in the championship since 2017 and dethrone Flagler, who have won a PBC record eight-consecutive conference championships.

UNG will then return to the Roger Milliken Center for the 2026 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional on Saturday, Nov. 21.

After a year filled with numerous strong performances and multiple all-conference selections, the Nighthawks are looking to build upon those accomplishments in the 2026 season.
