DAHLONEGA – Four University of North Georgia (UNG) golfers have been named to the 2026 Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team, the league announced as part of its annual recognition of academic excellence among student-athletes.
Formerly known as the Team of Academic Distinction, the PBC All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom.
Representing the North Georgia men's golf program was Rhett Smith of Eatonton, Georgia. Smith, a cybersecurity major, posted a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average while contributing to the Nighthawks throughout the 2025-26 season.
The North Georgia women's golf team placed three student-athletes on the All-Academic Team. Cora Mount of Chattanooga, Tennessee, earned recognition with a 3.59 GPA while majoring in finance. Ellie Jane Riner of Havana, Florida, carried a 3.91 GPA as a management major, while Camryn Wright of Bogart, Georgia, earned the honor with a 3.61 GPA in management.
To qualify for the PBC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must participate in at least half of their team's competitions while serving as a starter or significant contributor, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
The PBC All-Academic Team is part of the conference's ongoing initiative to celebrate academic achievement among its student-athletes across all sports.
