DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's tennis team placed three student athletes on the 2026 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) All-Conference teams, highlighted by Olesya Stokusova earning Freshman of the Year honors, the league office announced Thursday.

Postseason awards are nominated and voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Stokusova becomes the first Nighthawk in program history to be named PBC Freshman of the Year and just the second North Georgia player to earn a major conference award, joining Angelina Linnikova, who was named Player of the Year in 2025.

Stokusova posted a 5-1 record in conference play at No. 2 singles and holds a 16-2 overall mark between the No. 2 and No. 3 positions this season. She is currently ranked No. 34 nationally in NCAA Division II by the ITA, with notable victories over nationally ranked opponents from Flagler and Embry-Riddle. In doubles play, Stokusova has compiled a 14-5 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in conference action alongside partner Anastasiia Opolska.

Opolska and Stokusova each earned First Team All-Conference honors in singles, while also being named First Team All-Conference as a doubles pair. Opolska has competed exclusively at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles this season, posting a 13-7 overall singles record while climbing to No. 18 in the national rankings. Stokusova's 16-2 singles record and national ranking of No. 34 secured her spot on the first team.

As a doubles tandem, Opolska and Stokusova are ranked No. 21 nationally in Division II and have combined for a 14-5 overall record.

Sofia Giraldo rounded out North Georgia's honorees, earning Second Team All-Conference recognition in singles. Giraldo went 14-4 overall while competing at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions this season.

The Nighthawks will open play at the PBC Championship Tournament on Friday, facing Lander in the quarterfinals in Columbus, Georgia. First serve is scheduled for noon.
