DAHLONEGA - University of North Georgia (UNG) softball player Chloe Poss has been named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season, the league office announced Monday.
Poss turned in another strong week in the circle, making two appearances and totaling 13 innings against Flagler.
In a 4-0 victory, Poss tossed a seven-inning complete game, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out seven. She held opponents to a .136 batting average in the shutout effort.
She followed with another win against Flagler, throwing six innings and allowing five hits and two runs while striking out eight in a 4-2 decision. Opponents hit .200 against her in the outing.
On the season, Poss continues to rank among the conference leaders. She leads the Peach Belt Conference in wins (20) and strikeouts looking (47), while ranking second in total strikeouts (124), innings pitched (152.2) and ERA (1.93). She is also third in opposing batting average (.209).
The No. 8 Nighthawks return to action Tuesday, facing Miles in a nonconference doubleheader on the road.
