DAHLONEGA - University of North Georgia (UNG) freshman designated hitter Cam Hodge has been named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week after helping lead the Nighthawks to a 3-2 record, including a series victory over Columbus State that clinched the PBC regular-season title.
Hodge hit .357 on the week with a .643 slugging percentage and a .545 on-base percentage, recording five hits, eight RBI and six runs scored. He added a double and a home run during the week, playing a key role in North Georgia's offensive production.
On the season, Hodge leads the Peach Belt Conference in RBI (60), home runs (10) and walks (35) while posting a .322 batting average, .566 slugging percentage and a .472 on-base percentage.
