MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's track and field team opened the 2026 outdoor season Saturday at the Victor Icebreaker Duals, hosted by Berry, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 1500 meters and a sweep of the 3000-meter steeplechase.
Aubrey Dishman led the way in the 1500-meter run, placing second with a time of 4:59.40. Ahna Hicks followed closely behind in third at 5:01.24. Erin O'Brien finished 10th in 5:12.53, while Jordan Stirling placed 12th (5:13.08) and Tessie Braman was 13th (5:13.55). Katie Harper finished 18th with a time of 5:20.77 and Elizabeth Padilla Brun crossed in 5:58.10.
Dishman also claimed the victory in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:33.19 as the Nighthawks swept the event. Braman finished second in 12:42.15 and Harper placed third in 12:46.90. Stirling added a fourth-place finish at 13:07.93, followed by O'Brien in fifth (13:17.63) and Teagan Lamp in sixth (13:22.75).
In the 400-meter dash, Natalie Long placed eighth with a time of 1:03.72.
Hicks also competed in the 800-meter run, finishing seventh in 2:29.37. Long placed 16th in 2:38.92, while Padilla Brun posted a time of 3:08.19.
Harleigh Smith recorded a time of 15.17 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
North Georgia returns to action March 13-14 at the South Alabama Invitational.
