North Georgia Posts Multiple Top Finishes at South Alabama Invitational

MOBILE, Ala. - The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's track and field team recorded several top finishes across distance and middle-distance events at the South Alabama Invitational, held March 13-14.

Ahna Hicks and Aubrey Dishman led the way for the Nighthawks, each turning in multiple strong performances over the two-day meet.

Hicks finished second in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:35.73 after placing fourth in the 800 meters in 2:27.35. Dishman added a third-place finish in the 1500 meters, crossing the line in 4:59.89, and later placed fifth in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:48.82.

North Georgia placed four runners in the top eight of the 800 meters. Hicks led the group in fourth, followed closely by Tessie Braman in fifth with a time of 2:28.36 and Jordan Starling in sixth in 2:28.83. Erin O'Brien rounded out the Nighthawks' top finishers in the event with an eighth-place time of 2:34.64.

Natalie Long represented North Georgia in the 400 meters, finishing seventh in 1:03.95.

In the 1500 meters, Dishman's third-place finish highlighted the Nighthawks' efforts, while Katelyn Harper placed eighth in 5:17.05 and Teagan Lamp finished 12th in 5:30.31.

The Nighthawks also produced several strong results in the 3000 meters, which was contested on the opening day of the meet. Along with Hicks and Dishman, Braman finished sixth in 10:49.31 and O'Brien placed eighth in 11:02.00. Starling took ninth in 11:10.05, Harper finished 12th in 11:24.00 and Lamp crossed in 16th with a time of 12:03.34.

North Georgia closed the meet with a pair of top four finishes in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Long, Dishman, Hicks and Harper finished third with a time of 4:16.94, while the quartet of Braman, Starling, O'Brien and Lamp placed fourth in 4:36.28.

The Nighthawks return to action March 20-21 at the Emory Spring Break Classic in Atlanta.
