DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's basketball player Averie Jones was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after posting a career-high 33 points in North Georgia's win over Middle Georgia.
Jones opened the week with 16 points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal in a 61-53 loss to the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes before erupting for a career-high 33 points in a 69-52 victory over the Middle Georgia Knights. She added four rebounds, one assist and a steal in the win.
The standout guard currently leads the conference in total scoring with 434 points and ranks first in scoring average at 17.4 points per game.
Jones also tops the PBC in 3-point field goals made per game (3.0) and 3-point shooting percentage (.460), continuing to anchor North Georgia's offense from beyond the arc.
