LEXINGTON, Ky. - The No. 18 University of North Georgia (UNG) rifle team turned in a strong showing on the road but fell to No. 1 Kentucky, 4693-4668, on Sunday.

North Georgia posted an aggregate score of 4668, highlighted by a new school record of 2367 in air rifle. The Wildcats totaled 4693, edging the Nighthawks in both disciplines with a 2316-2301 advantage in smallbore and a 2377-2367 margin in air rifle.

In smallbore, Brianna Walter led UNG with a score of 579 (25). Abby Swain followed closely with a 576 (23), while Corbin Jockers added a 574 (31) and Courtney Allison contributed a 572 (25) to round out the scoring.

Swain paced the Nighthawks in air rifle with a 594 (46). Allison, Jockers and Walter each recorded scores of 591, marking the first time in program history that all four scoring competitors posted scores in the 590s in the discipline.

North Georgia will next compete at the Southern Conference Championship in Statesboro, Ga., Feb. 6–7.
