1/16/2026 1:36:00 PM

DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia (UNG) women's tennis team has announced its 2026 spring schedule, as the Nighthawks prepare for another competitive slate under head coach Kent Norsworthy.

Now entering his 21st season, Norsworthy brings a 254-178 career record into the spring, guiding a UNG squad that posted a 21-7 overall mark and 5-1 Peach Belt Conference record in 2025. The Nighthawks tied for first in the PBC regular season, won the conference tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals, cementing their place among the nation's elite.

UNG opens the spring season at home on Jan. 31, welcoming NAIA power Georgia Gwinnett to the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek for a non-counting exhibition contest.

In late February, UNG will face national-level competition at the ITA Indoor Championship from Feb. 20-22, providing an early-season test against some of the top programs in the country.

March features a mix of nonconference and league play, highlighted by the 3rd Annual Scenic City College Tennis Spring Break Showcase in Chattanooga, Tenn. The Nighthawks will compete at the Champions Club Tennis Complex at Rivermont Park, taking on Lee (March 9), Indianapolis (March 11) and UT Tyler (March 12).

Peach Belt Conference action begins at home on March 16 as UNG hosts Augusta. The Nighthawks' final home match of the regular season is scheduled for April 9 against Lander, before closing conference play on the road against Columbus State, Middle Georgia and Georgia Southwestern.

The postseason begins with the Peach Belt Conference Tournament, set for April 24-26 in Columbus, Ga. All conference teams will qualify, with the tournament contested in a single-elimination format.
