DAHLONEGA -- No. 10 University of North Georgia (UNG) women's soccer senior forward Kyleigh Drew has been named the Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week after a pair of standout performances last week for the Nighthawks.

Drew notched the 18th hat trick in the NCAA Division II era (2005) of UNG women's soccer history Wednesday at home against Lincoln Memorial. She scored three first-half goals in just 22 minutes to put the Nighthawks ahead 3-1 by halftime. Wednesday marked Drew's first career game with multiple goals and thus her first-ever hat trick as UNG went on to win 5-1.

Drew then went on to record an assist on the only Nighthawk goal in Saturday's Peach Belt Conference opener, a 1-0 victory at home against USC Beaufort. 

The senior transfer from Georgia Southern currently leads UNG with four goals on the year and is tied for the team lead in assists with three.

Now Drew and the Nighthawks will prepare their first conference road test of the year as they will head to St. Augustine, Fla on Wednesday, Sept. 24 to take on Flagler at 12 p.m.

Beginning in the fall of 2014, the UNG athletic department began honoring one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is chosen each Sunday evening by an award selection committee made up of members of the UNG athletics administrative staff.
