DAHLONEGA -- Both the University of North Georgia baseball and softball programs have changed their respective schedules due to inclement weather in the Dahlonega, Ga. area this week the university announced Wednesday.
The baseball team was originally supposed to play a two game, non-conference series against Catawba on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain on Tuesday pushed the pair of games back into a doubleheader on Wednesday that was originally scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. The matchup with Catawba has now been postponed to a later a date that will be announced in the future.
The Nighthawk softball team was slated to face Emmanuel (Ga.) in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday. That series has been moved to Thursday, Mar. 7. Game one will begin at 1 p.m. with game two scheduled to follow closely after at 3 p.m.
Due to the changes of the midweek series, UNG's conference contests with Augusta for the upcoming weekend have been pushed back as well. The Nighthawks were scheduled to face the Jaguars for three games over two days on Friday and Saturday. The series will now begin on Sunday with a doubleheader and the finale will commence on Monday. Sunday's doubleheader will begin at 12 p.m. with game two following at 2 p.m. Monday's final game will start at 12 p.m.
